Happy Birthday Dad

Conner made his daddy a tie for his birthday. He loves his daddy and was excited that they could spend the whole day together and play. Thanks Steve for being a great father to Conner!!!!! He looks up to you already!

Bye Bye Day

Today, we went to Rockport to visit with my parents a bit before we head to Michigan for a week. We don't get to see Grandma and Grandaddy very often because of the distance and we all work. We didn't want to leave town without saying goodbye, so we went and spent a few hours with them. Sophie was already there and then Steph, Tim, and Abby came down later. We played outside in the pool and water table, we played inside, and we also played COPS. What a fun day. We ended it with pizza and Birthday cupcakes for Steve. Everyone was exhausted. Snack Time

Conner was the "COP." He picked this guy up for DRINKING and DRIVING.

He picked this one up for "Shoplifting with a minor present." She is making her only call, begging her husband to forgive her and post bail.

Conner pulled these two clowns over for "Wreckless Driving" and he suspected they were up to NO GOOD!!!!!!

He had such a rough day arresting people it made his hair Stand up.

Brushing Teeth

The Doctor said Wednesday that it is time to start Brushing Conner's teeth, so we gave it a shot this morning. Daddy demonstrated, then Conner got to try. He took the brush and took over. He loves it. He brushed for about 5 minutes and we had to make him stop. Way to go Conner.

Date Night

Tonight was Nut Club night, so Conner and I were all alone and could spend some Mommy/ son time together. So, we walked from our house to the State Hospital and back. Conner rode in his stroller. While we were there we visited with the ducks and played with sticks and stuff. Conner had so much fun feeding the ducks and running and exploring the grounds. He hasn't been outside a whole lot lately because of the heat and humidity. We woke up this morning to 70 degrees and no humidity. His daddy took him for a wagon ride this morning, then his grandma took him for two walks during the day, and we went on a LONG walk tonight. He loved it all. It got up to 89 degrees today but the humidity was low. It was the first day in a long time it wasn't hard to breath. So, we took advantage of it and got Conner some fresh air.

Conner loved the ducks. He wasn't scared at all. He wanted to be right up in the middle of them. I was a little scared because for all of you that go to the State Hospital know, the really big geese can be really MEAN. They didn't seem to care that Conner was joining them. They didn't even hiss at him. He would crouch down like a tiger and try to sneak up on them. So funny. I can't wait to go back.

"Mom, I know you said this bread has been in your hot car for 3 weeks, but it tastes fine to me."

Play Date

Today, Conner had a play date with his buddies, Sophie and Caroline Engler. They played in the pool and also rode the Barrel Train. I am not sure what Conner thought about having two chics in his pool. I also think he was a little confused. He would stare at one of the girls, then look at the other. He was thinking. "Wow, they look alike." He was chased all the way around the pool deck by Sophie, but he never stopped and let her catch him. He was playing hard to get. When we all went in to change clothes, he decided he would do the chasing. He was chasing Sophie around the house and he caught her a few times ending in sweet kisses. He is such the ladies man. Thanks girls for a fun play date. "I caught you!"

He went in an Infant, and Left a Toddler

Today was Conner's last day in the Infant Room at daycare and he will start the Toddler room on Monday. He is moving on up. Steve and I picked him up together this afternoon and had a good bye party. Only one of his teachers was there, Ms. Dorothy, but she is his favorite. His buddy Keira was there too. Keira will be joining Conner in Ladybug in the future when she starts walking. So, today he had to tell her goodbye and encourage her to walk soon so they can be reunited. His girlfriend, Isabelle, has already graduated about 6 weeks ago. They are going to be in the same class. Conner has been visiting the Ladybug classroom for 2 weeks now for 2 hours a day. He was placed across the breakfast table from Isabelle on the first day. He recognized her instantly and she him. They started grunting and pointing. He was asking her "where have you been Isabelle?" He spent the rest of his 2 hours chasing her around the classroom and planting wet kisses on her because that is what Conner does best. He is a kisser, a hugger, and a lover.

When Steve and I got to daycare, we peeked in the glass door and saw that Conner was napping. Ms. Dorothy spotted us, smiled and walked away. We sat on the bench and put our shoe covers on. When we went in the classroom, we found Ms. Dorothy in the corner crying. She said, she had done good all day, but when she saw us both coming in at the same time, she knew that was it. So, of course I got choked up. I am so happy that Conner is moving up to toddlers, because he is ready for bigger things. It is just a little sad to say he is not an infant anymore, but a toddler.

It also made me so emotional to see that my little boy has made a special place in the hearts of his 3 teachers Ms. Linda, Ms. Dorothy, and Ms. Geneva, that they are heart broken to see him go. When I saw her crying, I knew it was going to be a sad goodbye. He gave her lots of kisses and hugs at our party today and we told her we would come visit. She told him she would be checking in on him too.

Thanks to his wonderful teachers who have given so much love and nurturing to my baby boy. These women have spent a lot of time with him and given him unconditional love. Thanks for everything you have taught him over the last year. We appreciate it.
