Conner and I went to visit Dr. Phillips today for his 3 year Physical.
Dr. Phillips said as usual, Conner was very well behaved, well mannered, and it will go down in history as the smoothest 3 year check-up Dr. Phillips has ever given. Dr. Phillips loves Conner and we Love Dr. Phillips. He is always bragging on Conner and they get along so well.
Conner weighs 41.8 lbs.
Conner is 41.5 " tall (3' 5.5")
This puts him way off the charts!
Dr. Phillips said since November 11, 2011, Conner has grown 3 INCHES! and gained 4 pounds!
3 inches in 6 months!!!! WOW!!
Dr. Phillips is now predicting him to be 6'4"!
Conner's size at 3 years is that of the average 4 yr 8 month old boy!!!!
He said to go invest in a basketball, a Football, and a baseball and get him accustomed to them because he will definitely be an athlete!
Speech- He said Conner's speech is very advanced for a 3 yr old boy.
I talked to him about his difficulties with "ST" words like Star, Stop, Store, and Sticker.
He leaves the S off when using ST words, but can say SH and S words fine.
He said this is perfectly normal for a 3 year old, but to draw his attention to his mistakes each time.
He said it is time for a first dentist visit.
We are being referred to an allergist since he is now 3 and we can proceed with allergy testing.
He is ready to get to the bottom of the allergy/asthma/breathing problems and this is the first step
and we will possibly have to have his tonsils and adenoids removed after we get the allergy results.
He always has big tonsils and when he has an allergy/asthma flare up, they get huge and in the way of breathing. This is one issue we are in control of fixing to improve breathing.
Conner also has to have a circumcision revision, which I have known this from birth and now it is time to proceed with this surgery because 3 is the right age to make the decision of yes or no!
We are going to wait on the tonsil /adenoid verdict and hopefully do both surgeries at the same time ( I have connections) to avoid two experiences. Both of these surgeries are pretty painless for little people and he should do great!
Conner has complained of joint pain for the last 6 months, mostly his right knee. Dr. Phillips did a thorough exam and found nothing wrong physically with that knee. He is not surprised of the pain with the rate he grew in the past 6 months and called them growing pains. We are going to watch for swelling or limping which has never presented and if it does, go further. He is just growing so fast!
Dr. Phillips always comments on how happy Conner is and that he has a special magnetic spirit about him. He always keeps us laughing during visits. The first thing he asked Dr. Phillips today was,
"Am I going to get a Sucker today?"
Over All, Conner is healthy, happy, fast growing boy who is right on track with where he should be!
