Sunday Afternoon, Steve and I took Conner on his very first fishing trip. He was very excited to go and so was his daddy! Friday night, we went shopping and picked him out a fishing pole and tackle box. Saturday morning, we practiced in the driveway. Sunday, he put his skills to the test and was casting it into the lake and reeling it back in ALL BY HIMSELF! He is a natural. He didn't catch a fish, but he didn't let that discourage him. He kept trying. He could use a little help in the Patience department. He would mostly cast, and then reel it right back in. Steve caught a catfish and two turtles.
It was an absolute gorgeous afternoon, very peaceful and relaxing. I love to fish and haven't been in about 4 years. We all had a great day and I hope we don't wait too long to do it again.
In the bath, I asked Conner "Do you know what is for dinner tonight?"
He said "What?"
I said "Do you remember the fish we caught today? Well, we are going to eat him!"
Out came the bottom lip and on came the crocodile tears.
Conner cried "No Eat Him!"
I said "Why not!"
He replied "I like Him!"
I said "OK, We'll be eating Chicken for dinner then!"
He Loved the "CHICKEN!"
