Day in Rockport

Sunday morning, the three of us got up before the chickens and the sun and headed to Rockport to go to mass with my parents. We then went to Grandmother Payne's for breakfast. We really enjoyed spending the morning with Grandmother and she enjoyed her time with Conner. He is being really picky with who he takes a bottle from these days. He let Grandmother feed him with no problem. Steve was a little jealous. I tried to explain that she has a very special touch and she has fed 8 kids of her own, 22 grandchildren, and a hand full of great-grandchildren. Conner could tell that she knew what she was doing.
We then went back to mom and dads to drop some stuff off and ended up staying the whole day. We had a lot of fun visiting. The guys had to go to Magnet, IN to check on some barges, so mom, Conner, and I went shopping. We had a great Sunday. We were all pretty tired when we got home.

Conner had a frog in his pocket. Grandma and Conner
Conner got a Halloween gift from Granddaddy and Grandma. It is this bear dressed as a Bat. It dances and sings a Halloween song to "We will Rock You." Conner wasn't real sure what to think of the dancing bear. When we let him hold the bear, he decided he was going to eat his antennas. The funny part is- the bear was on, so his head goes back and forth while he dances. So Conner was chasing the antennas with his mouth wide open. He finally caught one and chomped down. It was hilarious.

Love the Toes

Conner used to love shoving his fists in his mouth and chewing on them, now he can get his feet in there too. Sometimes, he tries to put a foot and a hand in at the same time. I used to obsess about washing his hands several times a day because he puts them in his mouth. Now, I guess the same goes for the feet. Did you ever wonder where they got the name "Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease?" It all makes since now.

Check out the Thunder Thighs.

Fun with Kelsey and Maddie

Kelsey and Madison spent Saturday night and Sunday with us. It had been awhile since they had seen Conner. He got lots of love over the weekend from the girls. They bathed him, fed him, put him to sleep, and played. We didn't see them after they went to bed, even though Steve, Conner, and I got up several times during the night. They never showed for the nighttime feedings. We really enjoyed having them around and Conner loved it too. Thanks Girls. Come back anytime.

We think this is what Conner is going to look like when he gets hair.

Sweet Potatoes

Conner is now on his fourth vegetable. Sweet Potatoes. He seems to really like them. I think he is going to be a great eater. He makes a few faces at the start of everything new, and then decides he Loves them. Way to go Conner.

Peas Please

Conner started peas tonight. The first couple of bites were slowly tossed around in his mouth while he was trying to figure out where the carrots went. After the initial shock was over, he accepted them happily. He ate the whole container. He loves to eat. The biggest challenge during Conner's meal time is that he now makes noises with his lips. He has learnt to make bubbles and sounds with his mouth and it is so cute. When you add peas or carrots to that, it can get a little messy. I end up wearing food every night.

Pass the Peas Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun With Sophie

Conner and Sophie got to visit with each other Sunday. They haven't seen each other in awhile. Sophie gave him a lot of hugs and kisses. When Conner fell asleep, she was getting on to everyone for being too loud. She was shhhing everyone and saying "Baby Conner sleeping." This means she is going to always be quiet when her new sibling is sleeping????

Sophie got in trouble a few .................... dozen times while we were there.

Carrots

On Sunday, we moved on to the second vegetable, CARROTS. Conner loved the carrots. It went much better than the first night of green beans. He was even grabbing Grandma's hand and helping her put the spoon in his mouth when she wasn't feeding him fast enough. The dirty diaper this morning was orangteresting. Ha Ha.

Happy Grandparents Day

Today is Grandparents day and Conner got to spend time with both sets of grandparents. This morning, Grandma and Grandpa Elfreich came to our house and we all went to mass together at Christ the King. Conner was waiting here for Grandma to give her a bouquet of flowers and a photo. After mass, we headed to Newburgh to Beef O' Brady's where Conner treated his grandparents to lunch. Then we went to Victoria to tour the Idea Home. He had a great time with them and gave them lots of love.
This evening, we went to Rockport to Grandma and Granddaddy Payne's house where he delivered a Bouquet of flowers and a photo to Grandma. He took Granddaddy some Butter Pecan Ice Cream. We also were there to celebrate my dad's 59th Birthday which is Tuesday. We grilled out steaks and had potatoes, broccoli salad, and desserts. Grandaddy even shared his ice cream.
Happy Grandparents day to all the grandparents out there and Thank you for all you do for your grandchildren. You are a big part of their lives, and a wonderful example to their parents.

A Swing for Conner

Today, Steve made Conner his very own swing. Conner loves our big swing out back, so Steve decided he needed a Conner size swing all of his own. He is very lucky to have such a talented dad who can make him all kinds of cool stuff. Thanks Steve.
First, he supervised, then he decided to help.
