15 Months Old

Conner is 15 Months Old today. Where does the time go? He is turning into quite the little man. Just a true joy to be around. He is a smile maker. Everyone who comes in contact with him SMILES. He is the love of our lives.
*******What Conner is up to at 15 Months*******
  1. He is getting more hair. It is blond.
  2. He has green eyes.
  3. He weighs 31 pounds. We go to the doctor next week for official weight and height.
  4. He wears size 5 diapers, size 24 months or 2T clothes and size 6 shoes.
  5. He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes at 6am. He likes to have his fisher price projector on making pictures on the ceiling while he is being rocked. It plays soft songs and ocean sounds.
  6. He most days takes only one nap about 2 hours long.
  7. He is getting 6 teeth right now, (4 molars). He has all but 4 or 6 teeth. I don't get real close to see how many he has left to get. He will bite if you stick your hand to far back in his mouth. Can't blame him.
  8. He is a pro at using his spoon.
  9. He has an answer to every question you ask. He will shake or nod his head and most of the time, the answer he gives make since.
  10. He has realized how to hide stuff. He has a few hiding spots in the house that we have found by sneaking up on him. You can find pacifiers, lipstick, toys, crackers, anything you can think of there. However, We can not find our second set of camper keys which have been missing for 3 months.
  11. He loves to play Pat-a-cake, The Wheels on the Bus, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider. We have motions for all of these, and he knows them pretty well.
  12. He has a number of facial expressions. His best is crinkling up his nose. He is a character.
  13. He knows many body parts. He will point them out on you and on him. He knows, Belly, Belly Button, Nose, Ear, Knees, Foot, Toes, Eyes, and Head.
  14. He loves to Dance.
  15. He can leap like a frog.
  16. He will crouch over and walk like a zombie because he thinks he is sneaking up on you.
  17. He will brush your hair and his own.
  18. He is a copy cat. You scream, he screams. You clap,he claps. You point, he points. He tries to copy everything you say too.
  19. His vocabulary is increasing every day. He knows Hot, tractor, cookie, cracker, ball, tickle, momma, dadda, shoes, bubbles, ball, bird, dog, uh-oh, and bye. They are not all clear, but we know what he is saying because we are around him so much.
  20. He is still a LOVE BUG.
  21. He still loves to READ.
Conner loves to sit on his stairs and watch the neighbors or watch the Street. We live on a street full of activity. It is a beautiful setting with a quite atmosphere and mature trees. So, you will see all kinds of people utilizing our street all day long. Walking, rollerblading, Biking, or Running. He is definitely a people watcher. Steve made these stairs for Conner and he loves them. We call it Conner's window. He will get visitors at his window a lot. His hair is getting thick and long and blond. I didn't know if he was ever going to get hair, but it is definitely growing now.
He is great with a spoon.

We spend a lot of time on these steps. We sit here and watch for dad to get home in the evening. It is usually too hot in the back yard to play out there after work, but the stairs are shaded in the evening. He sits and watches people pass by and looks for dogs. Everyone stops to talk to Conner. He is like a magnet.
He has almost caught up with Sophie in Height. He passed her in weight this month. She will be 3 in October. They are 18 months apart.

I went to his bedroom to get something while he was eating Pudding with a spoon. When I return, he was painting with the pudding and as you can tell by his face, he was loving every second of it.

"let's go!"

Fun with Nancy and Allen

Wednesday night, Steve and I were going to the Hospital to meet Riley and we needed a babysitter. We asked Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Allen (our Neighbors) if they would be willing. They gladly accepted. They came over and fed Conner his dinner and played with him. I am not sure who had more fun, Conner, Allen, or Nancy. When we got home, they were all on the floor playing with toys. He loved his time with them. He was full of giggles and smiles when we got home. He was wound up, which means he has been playing hard. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Sanderson. We love You. "Sorry mom, no time for a picture, I am busy showing them all of my toys and books."

Reisz Family Reunion

Sunday was the Reisz family reunion. My Grandmother Payne was a Reisz. The theme was "Christmas in July." (or August.) Everything was decorated in Christmas colors and we had a tree. Christmas carols played in the background. We only lacked the snow. Santa Claus even stopped by for a visit. There was a huge turnout this year. We had Pork Chops and all the extras including Christmas cookies. This is Santa entering the party.
This is Conner realizing there is something funny about that guy.
He is still not sure what the HECK that red guy is doing here.
"No, G-daddy. I don't want to meet him."

"You can shake his hand if you want, but I will not."
"Nice try, but I want down and he can keep his stinkin' YoYo."
The decorations and tree.
The Polar Express barrel train ran non-stop.................................... until it ran out of gas and my dad had to make a trip to the gas station. Then, it was back in business.

The 4-H Fair

We went to the Vanderburgh County 4-H Fair Wednesday night. It had rained a lot that day and when we got there at 5:45 p.m., the car said it was 80 degrees outside. We got lucky. There was a small breeze. By the time we left though, it had started getting sticky. We had a great time. Conner really enjoyed all of the animals. We saw everything there was to see. Cows, pigs, goats, sheep, llamas, chickens, rabbits, and so much more. He loved them all. We got to get up close and personal with all of the cows and he really liked petting them. It was all good until a really big Black Angus mooooed right in his face. He wasn't a big fan of that one cow. No big tears, just a squirm and whimper like "Let's get the &*#@ out of here." He got to eat mini corn dogs and he even got a balloon. It was a great experience.Steve, Conner, and Macy
Conner would pet the cow and then yank his hand away and laugh.
That is what Macy is laughing at. She is standing next to Buttercup (Brown). Macy and Buttercup got a Reserve Champion Ribbon. We also heard that Buttercup is Expecting. Congratulations Buttercup.

"Bye, Bye Buttercup. Good luck in the show tonight."
This lamb loved Conner's shoe. I am not sure why because Conner's feet do not smell like roses. He has really stinky feet at the end of the day. Steve and I were talking to each other and I look at Conner who was making a really funny face and beginning to wiggle. I look down and this sheep has his foot in his mouth. Conner didn't seem to care. He thought it was hilarious. So, we had to let the sheep chew on it about 20 more times before we could leave him alone.
Maybe sheep can't smell!!!!!

This is Conner telling that Sheep Bye.

Of Course we saw some GREEN!!!
The END!!!!!!!

His First Tent

What little guy doesn't like a tent? Steve and Conner put together his very first tent on Monday night. Conner was very involved in helping his dad. He was more excited about putting it together than playing in it when it was finished. I wonder where he gets his love to build things???? It is just the right size for Conner and a guest. The finished project.

14 Months Old

Conner turned 14 months old on Thursday. It is hard to believe it has been 2 months since the Big Birthday. It is amazing how much a baby can grow and change in those 8 weeks. He is a much better walker than he was 2 months ago, he communicates so much better with people, and he knows more about his surroundings. He is becoming a little man.
.......What Conner is up to at 14 months old......
  1. He says mom, dad, bird, ball, dog, and the latest word is BUBBLES.
  2. He eats his food with a spoon all by himself. He is pretty smooth with it.
  3. His favorite foods are chicken nuggets, pudding, applesause, yogurt, goldfish, and most of all BANANAS.
  4. His favorite things to do are swim, go for wagon rides, play in the sprinkler, play with bubbles, watch the world pass by from atop his steps in the living room window, and visit his grandparents.
  5. He explores every place he goes like he is on an adventures. He checks out his surroundings and gets excited to find new toys, or books that he doesn't have at home.
  6. He points and grunts trying to show you what he sees.
  7. He is very well behaved on outings most of the time. He loves to go and see.
  8. He is still very loving. We are told every day when we pick him up from school that "he loved on everyone today." You know when you go to greet him in the morning, that you will be met with a kiss, a hug, and a pat on the back. What more could you want when you start your day.
  9. He has all of his teeth except his bottom molars. They are on the way in now.
  10. He will point to his ears when asked where they are and his feet and his toes.

4th of July

Steve, Conner, and I went to the Deaconess Parking garage Sunday night to watch the Evansville Fireworks. It was the perfect spot. The weather was clear, 89 degrees at 9 p.m., but you would never have known. There was a cool breeze blowing on the top floor of the garage. Conner was a perfect angel. He loved the fireworks. He clapped and cooed at all the fireworks. He sat on his blanket at had snacks and milk. It was like a little picnic. We had the best view because we could see fireworks going off all over the city leading up to the big show. He stayed up till the end of the show but fell asleep on the way home.

The best seat in the House.
