Birthday Party #3- Family

Sunday, May 8th, was Conner's actual Birthday. We invited our family to the Children's Museum of Evansville for a party. We had Pizza and cupcakes. The children got to do a craft. They made party hats. Then Conner opened his gifts. He got all kinds of great toys. He was ready to get each one out of the box as soon as he ripped off the paper. It's hard for a little one to open a really cool present and be told he can't take it out and hold it. Then, it was time to roam the Museum. This was a lot of fun watching all of the kids and some of the "Big Kids" play together.  Then, it was time for everyone to go home. When we got home, the first thing we had to do was ride his new tricycle all around. Then we had to open all the boxes on his new toys and see what was inside. Then, he rode his tricycle some more and then played with new toys. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Later, we celebrated just the three of us. We let him open his gifts from us. We got him a Thomas the Train set with lots of tracks. He was pretty excited to see that he got some trains.
I think it was a pretty fun day for the little man. Turning two is a lot of fun, and even more fun when you get to spend it with your family.

Birthday Party #2- Neighbors

We have such great neighbors. They are more than just neighbors, they are great friends. So, we wanted to have a party for just the neighbors to come celebrate with their buddy Conner. The theme for this party was Handy Manny. We had cupcakes and Ice Cream. We sang "Happy Birthday" to Conner and he loved it. When we got done singing he said "Gin Gin" which means again. Conner got a lot of great gifts and had a lot of fun. He got a card that sings "Celebrate" when you open it. He was dancing to it and giving us all a show. His friends who came were Allen, Nancy, Keith, Teresa, Kristen, Jessica, Chris, Vicki, Bailey, Rick, Audra, and Simone.

Conner got to do something special for his birthday party night. After everyone left, Conner and daddy had some special time on the swing outside winding down for bed. They had a fire, pajamas, and Conner favorite blanket. They were cuddling!

Interview with Conner

Sometimes in the car, I will Interview Conner to see just what will fall out of his mouth. Today, on the way to school, the interview topic was Andrea and Byron.
Me- Conner what is in Andrea's Belly?
Conner-  Doggie
Me- Are you sure?
Conner- Baby
Me- What should we name Andrea's Baby?
Conner- Doggie.
Me- What else could we name the baby?
Conner- Memphis (Andrea's dogs name)
Me- Any other names you like for Andrea's baby?

(After much pondering and many pauses, he came up with 4 more)
Conner- Cracker, Water, Bisquit, and Train

I let Andrea know. She said she hopes Conner isn't disappointed if they don't go with one of those names. However, Byron in leaning toward Bisquit.

Rain, Rain Go Away

In April 2011, we have had near record rainfalls and widespread flooding. Conner has loved all the rain because he gets to live in his rain coat and rain boots. What boy doesn't love a good puddle???
He has also learned the song "Rain, Rain, Go Away" from school!!!

A Visit from Friends

One of Conner's Favorite things to do is go to the State Hospital and watch and feed the ducks bread (Pictures Below). Yesterday, we came home from school/work and there were two ducks in our yard sitting in the flooded grass. Conner was so excited. He immediately wanted to feed them bread. I told him that they were probably two of his friends from the State Hospital that came to check on him. We haven't made it there lately due to all the rain. He thought that was pretty cool. They stuck around for about 3 hours and then we saw them mosey across the street and head toward Walnut. Not sure where their next stop was.

This is right before this crane snatched himself a fish and swallowed it whole. Pretty cool to see.
