Icemen Fan

Conner loves the Icemen and Anything Hockey! He was roller skating in our kitchen and hitting pucks after a recent hockey game we went too.

Dentist

Well, my biggest dread for January has come and gone. Dentist day. I didn't tell Conner where we were going until he was in the car and buckled in. He is not fond of going to the dentist. It did help a little that his friend Hadley was going to be there too and they played in the toy room for awhile keeping their mind off of things. All was well until Hadley got called back and she made it through the double doors and almost out of our sight and then she started crying. Well, it was all over from then on out. Conner hung to my leg and every time the nurse came to the door to get someone, he froze solid. Finally, it was his turn. He cried through the whole brushing with the nurse but was excellent for Dr. Heister. He did keep telling Dr. Jeff that he was just too tired to be here today and he thought he needed to go home.
This visit was way better than last visit.
He got an A on his report card telling us that what we are doing at home is good. He does have some signs of teeth grinding on his back molars, but nothing alarming!

Blizzard of 2012

Conner's 1st Movie

We took Conner to see his first theater movie. It was Monsters, INC. in 3D at Stadium 16 Theater.
He really liked it. Before we left the house, he asked it the screen was gonna be the size of our TV. I said "Bigger". He couldn't believe how big it was, and loud, and dark.
He sat through the whole thing.
It was really cool, because it looked like the monsters were in the room with you.
We watch 3D movies at our house, but this was way BIGGER and Really cool.

Charley

Conner's guinea pig started acting strange Wednesday, was worse Thursday, and spent the day at the Vet Friday. We were under the impression when we picked him up Friday that he would continue to improve. But, unfortunately, he never regained his spunk and ended up dying on Christmas Eve. We saw this coming Sunday night and had Conner spend some time with him, talk to him, give him his Christmas gifts he had got for Charley, and he told him Good bye and not to be scared.
Conner is full of questions and seems a little confused by all of it.
Charley will definitely be missed. We had all grown attatched to him since he joined our family in October.

A Belt for Dad

Conner and I went to the mall today, and I told him he could pick out a gift for his daddy that would be only from him. We were in the last store and he spotted the perfect gift. He hears his daddy talking about needing a new belt all the time, so he knew this would be perfect. We went home, wrapped it, and put it under the tree.
A few hours later, Steve was dressing for Nut Club and couldn't find his belt, so he had to wear his work belt. Conner's eyes lit up and he whispered, "Can I give him his gift?"
I was happy to let him give his dad his gift early. He was so proud of hisself.
