Holiday World Halloween Weekend

Play Date Friday

Friday, Luke came and spent the day at our house. Those two boys left no stones unturned. They spent about 10 minutes in the house. The rest of the time, they stayed outside.

Combining SoyBeans

Kenny Seibert called Friday morning and asked if Conner could come help combine soybeans that day in Wadesville. Conner had a play date planned till 2:30 but we told him we'd see him at 3.
So, we met up with Kenny and got to ride along combining soybeans.
Conner has been one lucky little boy this year!

Isabelle

Conner and his dear friend/ girlfriend have been together in the same class since they were 12 weeks old. When they turned 3, they were separated into different classes. Conner bought her a necklace when that happened. They were 3. She wore that necklace every day. Recently, she broke it and told Conner that she needed a new one. Yes, she knows how to get it done. Go straight to the source. I kind of admire her boldness. He came home and told me about the situation. Well, it being my late weeks at work and us packing and all that, I kept forgetting. After a week, he asked me if I could write a note about needing a necklace in that book in my purse where I put all the notes in. I did. That got overlooked. Last week, on the way to work, he said in all seriousness, "Mom, you really need to take me shopping to buy Isabelle a new necklace."
I said "Oh, I'm so sorry Conner, I don't get off this week at all before the Pretty Little Princess shop closes, It will have to wait."
Conner- "But mom, I am tired of hearing about it."
ME- "What do you mean."
Conner- "Oh my, everyday when I get to school, she comes running up and asking me about her new necklace, I am just tired of hearing about it."
So, I called in a huge favor, asking my even busier than me husband if he could take off early one day to pick up Conner to go necklace shopping at the Pretty Little Princess. Steve thought I'd flipped my lid, but he did it. Conner was happy because now he could quit hearing about it, and Isabelle was happy with her new necklace. They day he was going to give it to her, he told Steve he was so nervous that his knees were shaking! Ms. Andrea asked Isabelle's teacher if she could borrow Isabelle for a few minutes and Conner got to give her the necklace. Oh boy!

Combining Again

Sherrie Seibert, a co-worker of mine saw some pictures of Conner combining a couple weeks ago and offered to let him ride with her husband, Kenny, this week. He jumped on that offer. He was ready to do it again. The catch, the combine was red. That's ok. He got to ride in a semi and dump corn into the barn floor which then went up to the drying bin and then to the storage bin. Then, Conner and I  got to ride in the International combine and drive it for a bit. We had a lot of fun. Thanks to the Seibert Brothers for welcoming us on to your farm.
