Pump it up Party

Friday night, we had a party at pump it up for Conner's classmates. What an eventful night this turned out to be. The party was scheduled for 5:40 p.m.. We waited out a storm which was heavy rain and a little wind. We left at 4:40 because we were supposed to be there by 5:15 to set up. The further East we went, the more we realized that there must have been some heavier storms that way.
Diamond Ave. was devastated with downed power lines, trees, roofs off, and some houses down. All the stop lights were out. It was taking forever to get to the East side. Then, Pump it Up called and said that they had no power and were on generator. They weren't sure if they were going to get their power back and said they may just have to reschedule. We told them that we were going to keep heading that way in case our guests showed up. So, in the car, I started calling all the parents that I had numbers for telling them to just hold tight and don't get out in this mess unless I called back soon. As soon as I messaged every parent I had a number for, Pump it up called back and said they now had power. So, I start all over and message the parents that the party is back on but don't rush to get there because it was taking us forever (almost an hour) to get there too. Well, by the time all the guests get there, it is about 1/2 past time to start. One of the party rooms didn't get power back so our party was cut in two sections. Jump in one room, eat dinner, cake, and presents, then jump in room number 2 so the other party there could have the party room. During jumping in the second room, the lights go out, it is complete darkness, kids are jumping in the bouncy houses that start slowly deflating, and the emergency lights didn't come on. So, the parents use their flashlights on their phones to help find all the kids and count them, grab shoes, and head toward the exit. By this time, We were all exhausted, and frazzled and I just said, OK, its time to go home. All of the kids and adults had fun and it was a night we won't forget.

Conner's 5th Birthday Party

Saturday, we had Conner's 5th Birthday party at our house. It was a tractor themed party with farm food. We had a great turn out and the weather was beautiful. We had special guests, Aunt Elaine and Tracy here with us. We had a bounce house, tractor rides, barrel trains, and a hayride.
Everyone had a blast. Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate!
