Conner's School Party

Today, Steve and I went to Conner's daycare and threw him a birthday party for his classmates and teachers. We had mini chocolate cupcakes and he gave everyone of his friends a party favor. We had so much fun. Conner didn't know what to think about getting a cupcake. Those are not on his daily menu. I told Conner to give Miss Isabelle a kiss. This is how the chain of events took place.

He leaned in for a kiss.

She played hard to get.

He grabbed her shirt.

And pulled her on top of him for a kiss.

They rolled off the step onto the floor.

I had to seperate them and sit them both back up.

Conner went back for seconds.

She was not in the mood for Conner's kisses today!

Last Bottle

Conner had his very last bottle and last formula last night. He his now on whole milk and strictly sippy cups. His doctor makes all major transitions one week before their milestone appointments so if there is a problem, we can talk about it at our appointment. He will be 1 on May 8th and his appointment will be May 12th. This was kind of a sad night for Steve and I. We won't have those bonding moments over bottles any more. Sad.

Walking Update

Conner is walking more and more. Crawling is pretty much a thing of the past. He is all over the place. He is very good at walking long distances and keeping his balance. He gets excited with himself sometimes and gets going to fast and crashes. Most of the time, he takes his time and gets where he wants to go. He is becoming a PRO.

On the Go

Conner has been walking since April 6th. That was two days before his 11 month birthday. He would walk about 6-10 steps and then fall. He would go a couple of days and not even try to walk again. His main way of getting around was his one legged crawl. Then, he would walk some each day, but mainly crawl. Today, he decided he was done crawling. He will walk from our kitchen to the living room or from the living room to the bathroom. He is all over the place now. He is taking 30-40 steps without falling or losing balance. He is doing so well. Way to go Conner.

Sandbox

Conner came home to a surprise from his daddy last Thursday afternoon. When we pulled in and opened the garage door, he noticed something different. When I was getting him out of his car seat, he was stretching his neck to see what that big blue thing on the floor was. It was a pool/ sandbox. His daddy made him this special gift while he was at school. It is filled with 15 gallons of sand from Pier Marquette Park in Muskegon, MI. We gathered the sand while we were there on vacation last summer. He loves playing in his sandbox. It is portable, so it stays dry and cool in the garage when not in use. It is awesome.

Oliver

My dad bought two antique tractors this week. One is a 1935 Oliver and the other is a late 40's model Oliver Row Crop. So, on our way home from camping this weekend, we had to stop by my parents so Steve could see the tractors. Of course he had to drive them. Well, only one runs right now. Conner sat right up there like he had rode a tractor a thousand times. After Steve got done driving, he rode around with my dad. What some of you may not know is that Steve owns his own antique tractor, a John Deere, that he stopped working on when he met me. Or so I get blamed. It is not finished and doesn't run. Maybe he will one day finish his own tractor for Conner to have.

Sophie was at my parent's house, so Her and Conner got to Play.

Cruisin

11 Months Old

Conner is now 11 months old. Wow, Time flies. He is becoming his own little person. Growing and changing every day.

********What Conner is up to at 11 Months Old********

1. He is walking. He walks about 6-10 steps and then he is done. He will do this several times a day, but his main way of getting around is still the one legged crawl. He is still mastering the balance issue.
2. He says Momma, dadda, ba (ball) and ba (Bottle) and bye (bye)
3. He points at everything because he wants you to see what he sees.
4. He grunts a lot. I think it is his own language.
5. He blows kisses.
6. He will blow his nose on command. Actually, he puts the tissue to his nose and makes the noise with his mouth. It is oh so cute.
7. His hair has taken a growth spurt. It is getting thicker. It looks like he may be a dirty blond or sandy brown.
8. He loves to be outside. He spends time every night riding in his wagon, his car, or playing outside with mom and dad.
9. He stands up, points the TV remote at the TV, and if he happens to push the right button and change the channel, he sits down and claps for himself.
10. He wrinkles up his nose and makes the funniest faces.
11. He is getting tooth 9 and 10 right now.

School Picture Day

Today is school picture day. We did a practice run this morning. I think the boy knows what a camera is by now. Watch out photographer, he is being a HAM this morning. "SAY CHEESE"

A Fun Day Outside

We had so much fun playing outside today in the sunshine. Steve washed and waxed the camper which took all day, so Conner and I played outside. He rode his car, rode in his wagon, swung, and played in the puddles daddy made. It was such a beautiful day.

Even the smallest of pudles can make a lot of FUN!!

Magic Jelly Beans

This week, I was at a Farmer's Market and ran into a man handing out Magic Jelly Beans. I took a bag and came home and told Conner about them. He seemed really excited to give them a try. So, today, on Easter Morning, we planted 3 pots full of Magic Jelly Beans. We went about our day and played hard. Later, we went in to take our afternoon nap. When we woke up and went outside to play, we checked on our pots of Magic Jelly Beans. Oh, How surprised we were to find that our Magic Jelly Beans had grown into bright yellow and purple flowers. Oh, the Magic of Easter. It was very exciting. I hope we run into the same man next year to get more Magic Jelly Beans. Conner and his bag of Magic Jelly Beans
