Swimming

We took Conner swimming tonight. He has spent a lot of time in his little pools and he went swimming in the kiddie pool at Shakamak. This was the first time he has been in a big pool since last summer when he was little. He loved it. He splashed and kicked and laughed at his dad as he flopped all around. His favorite was riding in the red boat. He loved it.
"Is that a Giant Bath Tub?"

We also got to go see Steve's antique John Deere tractor.

Conner is now 13 Months old. He has changed so much in the last month. He has grown personality wise. He is so observant of his surroundings. He is trying hard to communicate through pointing and head nods or shakes and he is trying to tell us stuff through baby babble. He wants to show you stuff all the time. He is so smart. It is amazing what he remembers from day to day or week to week. He doesn't miss a beat. He is so much fun to be around and he makes me smile every time I am around him.

Summer Fun

This weekend was Sunny and warm. Sunday was very warm. So, Conner got to do some fun outside stuff with water that we haven't got to do yet because we haven't topped 80 too many days. We played with water a lot. He played with the garden hose, his sprinkler he got for his birthday, and bowls of water. He loved it all. Anything to be outside is his idea of fun.

The two baby birds outside Conner's window.
We open his blinds and check on them at least 5 times a day.

C0nner helped me transplant some flowers Friday. He dug in the mud and raked mulch.

Sunday, he started out with clothes. But it was way too hot for that.

He's happier and cooler naked.

These are OR bowls full of water. He sat in them for a good half hour under a shade tree. Happy as a clam.

Conner's 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday, May 8th, Conner turned one. We had a cowboy get together at the Elfreich Ranch for a few of our Buckaroo's family and friends. The weather was a windy and chilly 65 degrees, but us cowboys and cowgirls know how to brave the weather. We ate a traditional cowboy grub of fried chicken and all the fixins. We topped it off with soft drinks and spirits. Then there was cake and ice cream. There was plenty of fun had on the stage coach ride (AKA Barrel train). The other cowboys and cowgirls came bearing gifts for the cowboy of honor. Best of all, everyone showed up in their best western attire. We had a great time at the Elfreich Ranch celebrating Conner's first year. Much love to our little cowboy as we start his next year of life.

Conner and Brady in the stage coach. Brady was a frightened little cowboy. He feared being attacked by robbers on horses. Next year, he will be ready to brave the adventure.

This is pretty good.
