The Adventures of Conner: Polar Express

Saturday, we celebrated Thanksgiving at mom and dad's house, then headed to French Lick for our first ride on the "Polar Express." This night will go down as one of my favorite family nights. It was such a magical night. So fun to watch the three little ones wait with anticipation, then see their faces light up with excitement. That's what Christmas is all about. It definitely leaves you with a Christmas spirit and the hopes to keep the magic of Christmas alive for the little ones for years to come!

I give the folks at French Lick an A+ when it comes to recreating the movie, The Polar Express. They had all the details incorporated and it was so real. I know, because we have watched the movie about 30 times in the last 2 weeks.

They had everything you could hope for from the characters down to a T, the hot chocolate and cookies, the train, the singing and dancing, the tickets and the ticket punching, the dancing waiters, the conductors, the North Pole, and Santa handing out bells to all the kids.

I have to admit, I got a little choked up watching Conner wait his turn to get a bell from Santa. He turned around in his seat, gave a gentle waive, and waited. This is the closest he has ever been to Santa without crying. The little look on his face was priceless and a tear jerker for mom. He took his bell, and wouldn't let go of it for a minute. He was so proud of that bell. He kept looking at it and rolling it between his fingers as he watched Santa leave our train. He held it tight all the way back from the North Pole.

It was definitely a magical night for the young and the old!

We have already bought our 2012 tickets!!!

Can't wait!!
