For the last two months, the science topic in the Starlight room has been honey bees. They have been learning all about them and studying them. Today, our good neighbor, Keith Rollins, went to daycare and did a presentation on honey bees. Keith became a Bee Keeper a few months back. He will collect active hives from his landscaping customers properties and transplant them to another property. He collects the honey and bees wax and they are very good in helping his flowers.
Keith did a heck of a good job. He brought the bee suit, some live bees, fresh honey, and a bee house. It was a very hands on presentation and the kids got very involved and asked a lot of questions. Ms. Andrea was so happy with the guest speaker. He also left a real bee house for the kids to paint and decorate and he will seal it and put it at one of his customers houses.
Thanks Keith for donating your time and knowledge to the Starlight room at Deaconess Children's Enrichment Center.
