More Baby Goats

On Sunday, Steve, Conner, and I drove to Rockport to visit my parents. We had a great day of visiting and warm weather. We stayed outside the whole day Sunday, so Conner was in heaven. When Conner heard that there were more Baby Goats to see, he  was ready to go. Two of my Uncle's goats each had 2 babies. Conner was a pro on the farm since our field trip yesterday. He walked right out into the pasture in hope of catching him a goat. He kept saying "Goat Hold" because he got to hold the baby goats yesterday. The goats today were a few weeks old and not interested in up close encounters. So, he patiently followed them all over the pasture, hoping they would change their mind. The more he walked, the more they walked.

We had a great afternoon of visiting with Grandma and Grandad. We grilled out and played outside.

A Day on the Farm

Michelle, Kelsey, and Maddie asked Conner and I to go to Ron and Kim's farm with them today. We graciously accepted. We had a lot of fun. I got a lot of great pictures of my little boy getting to be All BOY. He had a blast exploring the whole farm and visiting with all of the animals. There were horses, Miniature horses, geese, goats, baby goats, and chickens. The baby goats were 1 week old today.  We can't wait to go back. Thanks for the great day girls.

Rodeo

On March 11th, 2011, mommy went out with old friends for girls night and Conner and Daddy went out for Boy's night. They went to the Rodeo. Conner loved it. He sat in his own seat and was very excited to watch the "Boys fall off the Horses."  They were actually riding Bulls but He wanted to call them horses. They actually got to see my Cousin Joey Tempel ride. That was really cool. They had loud music and fire. It was a great Boys night for them.

Parent Teacher Confernce

Steve and I went to Conner's parent teacher conference today. Steve hasn't got to go to one yet, so this was awesome that he got to go with me. Mrs. Diana had only good things to say about Conner. She said he is very, very smart, well behaved, well mannered, and calm. She said she wishes all 11 kids were like Conner. Not to brag, but he is the only one of the 11 kids that doesn't try to bite, kick, or hit others. Biting has been a real issue with this class. Before, I would wonder which one bit him. Now, he can talk and tell on them.  She said he doesn't talk a lot at school. He is very quiet and somewhat shy. He will spend a lot of time playing by himself.  We have a diffrint child when he gets home. He talks non-stop and thinks you have to play with him at all times. He can't spend more than 5 minutes without you. She said this is all normal for this age and he will come out of his shell soon. He is also good at sharing with others. His favorite things to do at school are recess outside, story time, art time, the sensory table, and the home center. She said he loves to paint and draw. He spends a lot of time in the art center.  She seems to have a special love for our child. She kept saying that "he's my little man", " he is sooo.. sweet,' and "can I have him?"   We are so lucky to have a great daycare and great teachers to help him blossom as a young man. Way to go Conner.  You make us proud.

Paci Free

Monday, on the way home from School, Conner was launching pacifiers from the backseat. Probably aiming at the back of my head. I told him that if threw his pacifiers, he didn't really need them. I told him we should throw them all away because he was too big for them. When we got home, much to my surprise, he took the pacifiers from the car and put them in the trash can. So, I went with it. I said, lets find ALL of the pacifiers and throw them away. He willingly searched for all of his pacifiers and threw them all in the trash. Knowing he would be "Dumpster Diving" the first time I turned my back, I told him we should take the bag out to the street and call the "trash man" and let him know we have a bag ready for him. So, I took the bag and put it behind our garage. Conner was messing around in the kitchen about a half hour later. I went into the living room and hollered for him to "Hurry up and come here." I told him I saw the garbage truck driving off with our bag of trash and if he looked quick he could probably still see him.  He agreed he saw the back of the truck drive away. That was all it took. He asked about them several times without ever a tear. I told him that his daddy would take him to Rural King that night and get him a big boy toy since he reached a big milestone.  He asked about them once or twice the next day and that was the end of it. Every once in awhile he says "Ba's trash."  Then he claps for himself.

This was way easier than I ever thought. He was so addicted to them like a bad habit. He had to sleep with 10-15 of them and if he was playing and couldn't find one, he would freak out. It is so nice not seeing them all over the house and especially in his mouth. He is instantly prettier than ever. We even get more random kisses because the pacifier is not in his mouth. Who knew this would be that easy? Now, we are dreading starting potty training in May. Hopefully, we keep our good luck streak. Good Job Conner. You are headstrong like your momma!

22 Months Old

Conner is now 22 months old. Quickly approaching his 2nd Birthday. He is just a blast to be around. He makes you laugh and smile.

*****What Conner is up to at 22 Months*****

1. He is saying more and more 3 word sentences.
2. Calls himself Con Con instead of Conner.
3. Still very affectionate. He will come plant a kiss on you for no reason.
4. He is very brave. Every time we have to go to the doctor, he is so good and makes me very proud.
5. His favorite outfit right now is his raincoat and rainboots. He has gotten a lot of use out of them lately.
6. He has a bad case of SPRING FEVER. We walk every day and he can't get enough of it.
7. He loves to feed the ducks and go to Vann park and go on the slides.
8. He is getting better at steps. He never sits to get down anymore.
9. He loves to cook. He is the biggest helper.
10. He says so many words, we can't even count. He is very easy to communicate with. He knows exactly what he wants and can tell you.
11.  He repeats everything. Maybe not right away. It may be 2 hours later and he will blurt something out said earlier and take you by surprise.
12. He does sign language and we are left wondering what he is saying. We always ask his teachers the next morning what a certain sign means and they will teach us.
13. No More Pacifier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luke's Birthday

Saturday afternoon, Conner and I went to a Birthday party for Luke. His mommy is one of the surgeons I work with and a friend. It was at Bouncing off the Walls. We had pizza and cake. Conner was a little intimidated by the size and noise of the blow ups. So we spent most of our time climbing on the stairs.
